Bruno Chavez is from Peru and has been volunteering for two years. He loves to dance and never misses the MNC Saturday Social Dancing activity.

Mario Cuellar AKA Don Mario is from El Salvador and has been volunteering for 15 years. He's an amazing chef at San Jalisco Mexican Restaurant and is always willing to help.

Anibal Castanon is from Guatemala and has been volunteering for nine months. He loves to get involved with the community and talking to our seniors.

Kelly White is from the USA and has been volunteering for one and a half years. She knows MNC because we brought the seniors to her daughter's school.

Domingo Alberto Altamirano Mendoza is from Nicaragua and has been volunteering for three months. He has two beautiful kids and MNC is helping with his resume and job search.

Leonarda Hidalgo is from El Salvador and has been volunteering for one year. She says she's received many blessings from MNC's HADS program

Teodora Galindo is from El Salvador and has been volunteering for five years. She loves to help out at our food pantry.

In this April Volunteer Appreciation Month, MNC is giving a shout out to our wonderful MNC HADS Food Bank VOLUNTEERS, who help us do amazing work. Whether helping in the kitchen feeding hungry MNC HADS elders, handing out produce on Food Bank Wednesdays or making the campuses feel alive with their special presence we can’t thank them enough for all they do!!!

King Wah Poon & Marn Chiu Poon AKA Papa and Mama are from China and have been volunteering for 15 years. From their participation for so many years, we have a big number of Asian community participants at our food pantry and computer classes.

Concepcion Lopez is from Mexico and has been volunteering for 13 years. Her kids got involved in serving the community and received a letter of recommendation from MNC for their university applications.

Silvia Lopez (left) is from El Salvador and has been volunteering for 13 years. She loves the MNC HADS program and her five children. She doesn’t like Sundays because that’s the only day MNC is closed.

Jorge Altamirano is from Peru and has been volunteering for five years. Jorge’s mother was a member of MNC HADS and has since passed away, but Jorge saw HADS dedication to his late mother and wanted to express the same dedication for our community.

Nelly Altamirano is from Peru and has been volunteering for one and a half years. Thanks to her brother, Jorge Altamirano, she's much more active and loves working with MNC HADS.

Carmen Chavez is from El Salvador and has been volunteering for 10 years. She's one of our senior members and loves to keep herself busy. Her mother who is 102 years old and her sister are members of HADS.

Laura Gomez Ramos is from El Salvador and has been volunteering for three years. She's Carmen Chavez's niece and became a volunteer when Carmen got sick during the pandemic. She loves getting involved in the community.

The new Childcare polices, and ideas will rapidly change in the next coming years and MNC will continue to provide the highest standards of quality

Nancy Pelosi and Katherine Clark spoke about putting policies in place that recognize childcare as economic infrastructure

MNC COO Beiling Gonzalez attended the Roundtable Discussion on Childcare with Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and Whip Katherine Clark. The event was filled with many familiar faces such as Department of Early Childhood Director, Ingrid Mezquita, host - Kai Ming Executive Director Jerry Yang, and Wu Yee CEO Monica Walters.

Nancy Pelosi and Katherine Clark spoke about putting policies in place that recognize childcare as economic infrastructure. Speaker Emerita Pelosi added “We consider San Francisco a model for the nation” and concluded by stating that “We are not spending; we are investing in children” as she referred to the budget priorities. It was a very inspiring roundtable discussion.

For MNC Inspiring Success, new Childcare polices, and ideas will rapidly change in the next coming years and with the new plans laid out, MNC’s Early Education program will be ready to continue serving our children and families following the highest standards of quality. Thank you Efrain Sandoval, Barbara Walden, Gabriel Curiel, Theresa Sanchez, and Ana Cobos for also attending this event!

Welcome to MNC's McAllister Campus

MNC Staff are ready to lead the children in fun activities

The Waiting Room is equipped with movies, toys, books and more!

Nutritious snacks and drinks are provided

Parents can drop off their children in a fun, safe and non-stressful environment

MNC’s McAllister Campus provides a Children's Waiting Room located at the San Francisco Superior Court and is designed to provide a fun and safe space for children ages 0-16 years old in the next month or so. Stay tuned!

The Children’s Waiting Room offers the families tending business at the Courthouse peace of mind, by providing an opportunity for them to drop off their children in a fun, safe and non-stressful environment, and at no cost to parents or guardians. The room is equipped with board games, toys, movies, puzzles, and books. MNC’s onsite staff is always eager to lead the children in many arts and crafts activities. Nutritious snacks, as well as milk or water, are provided for the children and youth.

MNC will be operating a second Children’s Waiting Room at the Hall of Justice in the next month or so. Stay tuned!

MNC Staff Wellness Day

The Southeast Community Center was a full house of MNC staff ready to relax and have a good time

Wellness Day was a full day of great activities, good food, goodies and much more!

MNC Staff get in touch with nature and create mini planter gardens

There were tons of fun outdoor activity's such as Jenga

Event Co-hosts Adrian Cuyson and Micha Antonio-Queri kept the day fun and engaging

MNC hosted a fantastic MNC Staff Wellness Day that was all about our staff and their wellness, at the Southeast Community Center. There were engaging and fun activities like Sound Bowl Meditation, Salsa Dancing with the master teacher Ryan Mead from Rueda con Ritmo, a Gardening Workshop, a Mindfulness for Stress Reduction session, a Mindful Eating and Nutrition session and outdoor activities like giant Jenga, cornhole, and more!



A delicious breakfast and lunch were provided, and everyone came in their most comfortable clothes ready to replenish, recharge, and restore themselves right before the weekend. The day ended with everyone taking home special gifts and feeling extra relaxed. Thank you, Michelle Najera and team, for this amazing event!

1240 Valencia is in Progress

Richard Ybarra checks in at 1240 Valencia Street

MNC CEO Richard Ybarra took a trip to 1240 Valencia Street to see the progress being made on our soon-to-be new campus. We last described the location as a skeleton of steel and wood, but soon it’ll be a brand-new Early Education classroom full of children playing and learning. It makes the long-awaited construction worth it. More updates and photos for this beautiful campus will be coming soon!
